Before running, there was swimming — years of early mornings and 50m pools, learning what it means to compete against yourself. That discipline didn't leave when Kristján stepped out of the water. It just found a bigger arena.

What started as road running in the Netherlands quickly evolved into something deeper. Trail running offered what roads couldn't: raw terrain, genuine isolation, and a test that goes beyond the physical. The kind that reveals what you're made of when the elevation climbs and the finish line feels impossible.

Today, Kristján competes at the highest levels of ultra trail running — UTMB wins, course records, podiums across Asia and Europe. He coaches for the same reason he races: to find out what's possible when you commit fully to the process.
